A customer brought us an iPhone 8 Plus that had been dropped from a fairground ride. As the photograph shows, the phone did not come off best.
The faults included a smashed screen, broken home button, damaged dock connector and logic-board damage.
After a careful assessment and rebuild, the phone was returned to full function without losing the customer’s data. It also looked like a phone again.
Damage this severe is not always repairable, but a professional diagnosis can distinguish a device that really has reached the end from one that still has a practical route back.
